This past weekend I was extremely fortunate to be able to attend Shannon Hudson's 11th ANNUAL EXCEPTIONAL EXPECTATIONS event in Fenton, Michigan. Featured speakers for this incredible, two-day event were Young Living Diamonds Shannon Hudson, Sarah Harnisch, Tom Nikkola, and Vanessa Romero. The guest speakers spoke on a variety of topics, all centered around the theme: Expectations -- What We Do and Why We Do It.
Vanessa Romero spoke about human behavior, specifically our four core tendencies and how we respond to inner and outer expectations. She used the model designed by Gretchen Rubin and explained in Gretchen's book, "The Four Tendencies." This was a fascinating lecture focused on identifying what our own unique tendencies are, as well as what the tendencies are of the people we interact with. By identifying and understanding these tendencies we are then able to better communicate with those around us.

Another fabulous speaker this weekend was Sarah Harnisch. She shared with the audience her incredible journey from a life of poverty, sickness and deprivation to one of abundance, wellness and purpose. Her best-selling book, "Gameplan," has sold over 1.5 million copies and she guided attendees through the simple steps explained in the book. She emphasized the necessity to "embrace your pace -- don't compare yourself to others." This holds true in business building as well as in everyday life.
I can't exclaim enough on how powerful and inspirational this whole event was. If you ever have a chance to attend one of Shannon Hudson's events, I highly recommend it.
